Life At First Baptist Church
Sunday begins at 9:00 a.m. with an adult Bible study. The class is seminar style and discussion is encouraged.
We worship in our beautiful sanctuary each Sunday at 10 a.m. Our children gather in worship with the adults. Following the children's moments, they are dismissed to attend their Sunday school class led by several caring adult members.
First Baptist is a praying church. Not only do we pray for one another during worship each Sunday, there is also a prayer chain that discreetly raises up prayer concerns during the week.
Most Sunday evenings a small but dedicated group gathers to knit watch caps for the Seaman's Mission and prayer shawls for those who have special needs.
First Baptist has joined several other area churches to re-pack surplus food from the Amish market to be given to many of our neighbors in need. This " pack out " is held at the church every fourth Saturday of the month.
Our church contributes food to the Emergency Relief Association. A variety of food is accepted as well as donations of children's books. In addition, First Baptist regular participates in a " Chapel and Chow " event for the behind - the - scenes workers at Parx Casino and Racing. A meal is shared and worship together.
